Automotive recycling simply means the dismantling and reuse automobile vehicles as spare parts. Once a vehicle has fulfilled its purpose and is an economic drain on society, it has to be properly disposed of. Automobiles are no longer used as an source of raw components which has led to the growth of an industry for recycling automobiles.
The auto recycling industry starts by taking the exterior and interior salvage from vehicles that are no longer valuable to salvage car buyers. Often times the salvage yards sell the vehicles to salvage car buyers, which in turn will tear down the vehicles one piece at a time, and then restore them for resale. In essence, recyclers take damaged, broken vehicles and putting new parts of the auto into them, which are then sold for profits. The recycler will earn more money if there’s more components inside the vehicle.
With the advent of the internet, online retailers have sprung up that do not only offer these types of used auto parts, but they also offer shipping anywhere in the country. This allows Bassirpour said he has noticed an exponential increase in the interest in his business. He has since expanded his auto recycling service from coast-to-coast.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the country generates more than thirty-six million tonnes of potentially hazardous waste each year. 14 million tons of this waste are non-recyclable materials. These figures paint a dark picture of the amount of waste being produced by our country and the negative impact it has on the environment.
Many people are understandably concerned about the state our economy today and it’s no surprise that they’d be wary of looking into automotive recycling to recycle their used automobile parts. This trend isn’t new, however. Car owners have been selling used parts on the used vehicle marketplace for decades. Today, a lot of them are doing the same thing using used auto parts for trucks and vans, boats, RVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and jet skis. It might be time to invest in recycled parts for their vehicles.
Over twenty billion pounds of scrap metal is generated each year by the recycling industry with a large portion being aluminum. Bassirpour stated that a large portion of the scrap is made up of aluminum that can be used to create panels for vehicles that are newer instead of buying new ones. He believes that the industry will produce between ten and twenty-five billion pounds of aluminum over the next decade. This will not only benefit the aluminum industry, but it could also make a huge difference for the environment. If we were to throw this unwanted metal in the garbage dumps, we’d be damaging our environment and our climate. Bassirpour and other experts believe that investing in aluminum is a smart move.
It seems that more Americans are beginning to realize the benefits of going “green.” This is especially true when you consider how fast-paced the global economy is. Many people are beginning to look for ways to save money, and this includes the use of auto recycling. It doesn’t matter if they want to purchase recycled vehicles or donate their old junk to metal recyclers, recycling is never easier.
If you decide to purchase recycled vehicles or give away your old junk, helping the environment is an ideal that everyone should strive to achieve. It is also important to understand that recycling does not only benefit car owners. There are numerous benefits to recycling both cars and the entire globe as well. Recycling is not just the best option however, it is the right thing to do. When you use recycled parts in new vehicles, you will be doing your part to keep our precious ecosystem from collapsing. The longer we can do this, the better for us and future generations.
