You are approaching your 40’s or you are already there and you desperately want to have a baby. Don’t panic as in today’s age, it is entirely possible to get pregnant and have a healthy baby. Think of it like the common expression, ‘Yesterdays 30’s are today’s 40’s’.
Gob-smacking, I am sure you will agree! Where does she find the time and the energy? As someone asked her this question, she proceeded to cut down her achievements: she ‘only’ works two days per week, it’s easy to bring other kids in to a home full of kids, the councillor role fits around her family duties, and the internet projects are really quite simple and straightforward.
For other women life circumstances will change. They will find themselves with a partner who has not had any children. Having a tubal ligation puts the women in a spot where there are not a lot of options. The most common options are adoption IVF Centre in Hyderabad and tubal reversal surgery.
I IVF Centre then had an ultrasound test to check my follicle count. The doctor expected to see about twice as many as he did for someone my age. Big strike against me in the fertility department. I was worried this meant I wouldn’t be able to go through the treatment, but the doctor told me there is still a chance. So we started preparing.
Why are we infertile? – The single biggest reason is age of the woman (see below). Other than that, the male partner has sperm production or delivery problems in 40% to 50% of cases. Women’s problems with egg production and pelvic/uterine conditions account for nearly 50%, many of those affected by age. And the cause of infertility is unknown in about 10% of cases.
Take the prescribed medication. Taking an insulin medicine is the stepping stone in treating the PCOS in the pregnant women. Expect to take drugs like the melformin which will take 3 to 6 months. There is nothing to worry of course since it has no side effects to pregnant women.
In the months I spent trying to conceive, I felt completely lost and powerless. Parts of my struggle were transparent, broadcast to the world or anyone who was paying attention. I saw my doctor constantly, almost daily during treatment cycles. I came to know his vacation schedule, how he took his coffee, and his secretary’s children’s names. I took deep breaths through internal ultrasounds and learned to count my follicles along with the nurses. I joked with the lab techs as I became accustomed to giving up my blood and my neat and simple life as I knew it. And those were the easy parts, the parts that weren’t a secret. It was the hidden parts of my life that were hell on earth.
